I find it amazing how easily it is to connect to networked devices from anywhere these days. However, with more access comes more vulnerability. The latest from The Hacker News, shows just how easily it is to hack into Western Digital's My Cloud NAS devices. Securify researchers were able to break into one by simply applying a cookie value which designated the user as an admin that is already logged on without any type of authentication needed.

Back To School...

It would seem that the need for cyber security professionals is a high demand these days. I ran across an article on helpnetsecurity.com which talked about the number of people willing to go back to school to get certified, up-skill or even re-skill. A survey that was conducted by Champlain College Online, noted that out of 1000+ people that took the survey 41% of them would consider returning to college to earn a certificate or degree in cybersecurity. However, these percentages rose to 72% if assistance was given by their employer to up-skill the employee.

I subscribe to a newsletter called Cyberheist News. This newsletter is put together by a company named KnowBe4 that specializes in pen testing, phishing, and spoofingoffers companies many options to see where threats may be hidden and also provides online preventative training for users.
